April 2025 Newsletter + Track Meetings for GGN Members

Margery's Note....
One day I noticed how bare my trees were in the front yard….
And the next day they were full of little green leaves!
Hidden inside those bare branches, those little leaves were ready to show up when it was time….
Like magic, they seemed to pop up out of nothing!!!
And I’m realizing that the more present and ready I am, the more ideas and experiences seem to pop up in the same way….
Being ready for whatever comes keeps a sense of magic alive….
And helps me break the anxiety of impending doom I get if I listen to negative news reports and horror stories….
I’m putting my energy into a different direction….
And letting myself enjoy not knowing what is coming up, but being open to whatever it is….
It gives me a sort of child-like feeling of possibilities….
And I find myself smiling more….
And being so glad when I get to be with friends….
And do only the things I really want to do!
Anything popping up for you????

Success Isn’t the End—It’s a Stepping Stone
Have you ever worked so hard to reach a goal, only to feel strangely lost once you achieve it? We pour our energy into a vision, push through doubt, and celebrate when we succeed—only to find ourselves wondering: Now what?
I recently experienced this firsthand.
For years, I’ve dreamed about filling my workshops with women seeking community, growth, and alignment. Even though I’ve been blessed to lead many incredible programs, at times attracting people felt hard. Success seemed like a razor-thin wire stretched across a deep chasm—one misstep, and everything could fall apart. My logical mind knew that wasn’t entirely true, but my emotions? They didn’t always get the memo.
But last weekend, something shifted.
Collaborating with Tracy at DFW Crystals, we created a solid marketing plan for my series of workshops, Honoring the Goddess Within. Most of the time, I trusted it would work. Some days, doubt crept in.
Then, Tracy confirmed: The last seat for Week 1 had been purchased.
Cue the BIG happy dance!
Immediately, my focus shifted from filling the circle to serving it. I prayed to open my heart wider—to create a space where every goddess felt seen, safe, and celebrated. And it worked. The workshop flowed effortlessly, the women connected and their goddesses came out to play.
Bam. It felt easy.
Surprisingly, I had spent so much time focusing on achieving this goal that I hadn’t fully considered what came next. And that’s when I realized—success isn’t the finish line; it’s a launching pad.
This experience showed me that when strategy, vision, and trust align, success doesn’t have to feel like a struggle—it can unfold with ease. And when it does, the question isn’t if we’ll succeed, but how we’ll grow from it.
So, what’s your next steppingstone? What goal have you been striving for, and how can you prepare yourself for what comes after? Share your thoughts—I’d love to hear what’s next for you!
See you next time!
Thanks,
Ann

Beneath the Surface: What Your Body Knows Before You Do
Thursday, April 3rd | 3:30–4:30 PM CT
In the Unwinding Compass, “Explore” points us in the direction of not what our mind and thoughts already know is happening but of the possibilities of what is there that we haven’t yet seen – this is the simple power of curiosity.
It’s not about fixing or forcing. It’s about noticing what is here, in the moment, just beneath the surface of our busy lives, the rush, and overwhelm.
Just as an archaeologist gently brushes away layers of soil to reveal something hidden, we approach our experience with care, attention, and awe.
In this workshop, we’ll practice that kind of exploration.
Not with maps and tools, but with breath, awareness, and presence.

Are You Leading—Or Just Controlling? (Spoiler: There’s a Difference!)
Let’s be honest: control feels good. Tidy. Efficient. Reassuring. If only people did exactly what you wanted, exactly when you wanted—things would run beautifully… right?
Except they don’t.
Because control gets compliance. Influence earns commitment. And that distinction—between making people do something and inspiring them to want to—is where real leadership lives.
The problem is, new leaders (and frankly, even experienced ones under pressure) often default to control. It feels productive. It gives you the illusion of certainty. If every decision goes through to you, what could go wrong? The answer: quite a lot. You burn out. Your team checks out. Momentum slows to a crawl.
And let’s be clear: control isn’t just about hovering. It can look like endless tracking systems, status updates, dashboards, approvals, and a hundred tiny check-ins disguised as “just following up.” You’re gathering information, but information isn’t insight. Control collects data. Influence builds understanding. If your team doesn’t know why something matters, you’re managing tasks—not developing people.
Influence looks different. It’s slower, sure. But it’s also smarter. Influence is teaching someone how to think through the problem instead of handing them the answer. It’s creating a culture where people understand why, not just what, so they can make good decisions even when you’re not in the room. Influence doesn’t mean stepping back entirely, it means stepping in with purpose.
The hardest shift for many leaders? Realizing that stepping back isn’t losing control—it’s building capacity. When your team starts to own outcomes instead of just following directions, that’s influence at work. It’s when someone anticipates the problem before you even see it, or when they take initiative not because you asked, but because they understand what matters.
Here’s one question every leader should ask themselves:
If I weren’t available, would my team still know what to do—and why?
That’s not about creating clones. That’s about building clarity.

Track Meetings
We still ask for $5 to cover costs. And yes, you can register at the last minute…. but it would be GREAT if you let us know a couple of days before so we can plan our refreshments!!!
Our Track meetings are designed to give us a sacred space to have meaningful, purposeful conversations without fear of being judged or competed with. Only Members can attend. They are amazing experiences, unlike any ‘networking meeting’ you have ever attended!
GGN members MUST REGISTER to attend these meetings, so just follow the links below! And if you want to learn about us, go ahead and join GGN~~if you decide it isn’t for you, we will refund your membership fee!
Currently we meet the 2nd Monday morning and 3rd Wednesday evening of each month (see below).
Each one is an event or happening in itself. Some members come frequently, some come only once in a while. Whenever you attend one, you will find out things you didn’t know, connect with women who will challenge and inspire you, and you will leave with some new perspectives.

Become a Member!
Great Girls Network is our way of being the opposite of the Good Ol’ Boys Network (which is still very much alive and well!). Even if you don’t participate in Track meetings, your membership gives you a way to support our existence and be a part of a growing group of women who really appreciate each other. And the Trii-Annual Gatherings are unlike any other “networking” event! We know women don’t network like men. We want to build relationships, we want deeper, more meaningful connections. That is exactly what GGN provides.
Our membership fee of $50 per year gives you access to our Track Meetings and also contributions to our Newsletter. The fee helps sustain our website, but it also ensures that when you participate in a Track meeting, you will honor the sacredness of the conversations because you are a member.
We created a digital card that helps people understand what they can get from joining GGN so click here to see the card.
Your membership helps give us that foundation, the strength to grow and have an impact on the lives of so many more women.
Great Girls Are Amazing Women!!! Thank You!!!
