December 2022 Newsletter + Track Meetings for GGN Members
Margery's Note....
Another year ending….
A new year coming….
Now that I’m older, the passing of one year to another doesn’t seem so monumental.
So thinking about endings and beginnings makes more sense to me….
This last year was pivotal for me. I let go of some old habits and patterns….
I did a lot of thinking about what family and friendships mean to me….
I kept fixing things in and around my house to feel more settled and ready for the future, whatever it may bring….
I worked 75% less than in previous years….
I read over 65 books!
I had 2 more stents put in my heart to keep me going for many more years….
I got really good at being present, available and relaxed!
- All of which enabled me to feel more distant from the craziness of the world around me.
- Strengthened my resilience.
- Improved my self-reliance.
- Helped me notice what others say and do without being affected by it.
- Keeps me calm no matter what comes up.
- Reinforces my gratitude for what is, as it is.
- I feel blessed to live in a world that I can truly appreciate, flaws and all….

Shares Creating a Transformative Year
A perfect workshop for year end!
As we come to the end of the year, and begin looking ahead to 2023, what’s on your mind?
Maybe you’ve faced big challenges this year, or you’ve reached new heights. And maybe you lived both of these realities!!
To celebrate an ending, and welcome a beginning, I’m gathering a small group of wonderful women who are ready to let go of anything holding them back, creating space for something new.
When? Friday, December 30, 11am-4pm
Where? My house in North Dallas (address on registration)
What? Light brunch and play-shop
You’ll co-create a comfortable space where you can confidently explore and share (or not) what’s possible for you in the coming year, noting anything that’s been holding you back.
The Transformation Game will be our honorary guide offering clarity and insights when you draw Insight, Setback, and Angel cards from the Game.
What will we do?
• Enjoy a light, simple brunch with Mimosa’s
• Participate in rituals to identify and release old stuff
• Explore possibilities for a better new year
• Create a work of art or vision board to represent the 2023 you’re intending
• Leave with a full heart, excitement for what’s ahead, yet strangely calm
Life can be so fast that we don’t pause often enough to explore our inner feelings. This play-shop is designed for you to do just that.
For registration contact [email protected].

Shares Info about Brain Health
AT our recent gathering Toni talked about her involvement with some amazing projects. She has long been interested in Brain Health and Memory Science, as she has a marvelous tool that increases our ability to retain and work with information. So it is natural that she did an assessment and has started the training toward a “healthier brain.” People wanted more, so she is sharing it here.

Friend of GGN Beth Wuller
Announces her new book!
Making Friends with Feelings, is a new storybook for children ages 4-8, written by Keith Ruffner and co-created with Beth Wuller. This is not your typical children’s book!
Yes, the bunnies teach sweet, gentle lessons of compassion, kindness, listening, and bravery. But the couple’s primary intent with this book is to begin teaching children to understand and name their feelings. Throughout the story, the bunny characters model healthy ways to respond to big emotions. The goal is for children to remember these examples when they face similar challenges.
Keith and Beth each struggled with identifying and expressing emotions well into adulthood. At different times in their lives, they each faced clinical depression. They believe that life would have been a little bit easier if they had learned how to embrace emotions rather than being taught to “stuff them down” and ignore them.
“Our goal with this story is to help people learn skills to recognize, understand, and effectively communicate their emotions and feelings. By starting with children, we hope to impact multiple generations for a long-lasting benefit on overall mental health.”

Shares another post: SPIT IT OUT!
I walked into the grocery store late one evening to pick up a couple of items. Like Old Mother Hubbard, “the cupboard was bare.”
I raced through the aisles anxious to get home and wheeled to the front of the store past the self-serve bins of nuts, beans, rice, and candy. As I stood in line waiting for check out, a little boy who was four-or five-years-old stuck his hand in the red licorice bin to grab a goodie. He popped it in his mouth, and then turned and saw me looking at him. He obviously knew the error of his ways, opened the bin of red licorice, and spit his sample goodie back into the bin! YUCK!! He then ran up to his mom who was checking out in line and never looked back.
The incident was surprising…and creepy! I found a grocery store worker, told him what had occurred, and he proceeded to pull the full bin of red licorice.
You may be thinking, “Give him a break, he is only a child!” You are correct! We all acted badly as children that is what kids do. But he knew better! The moment he saw my “mom face”, he acted out of instinct, anticipated the potential outcome, and spewed the evidence. When you consider where the ball was dropped regarding sampling etiquette, the mom owned this! She was “checking out,” or should I say, “checked out.” She did not keep on eye on her child or provide the correct training or boundaries to ensure this type of behavior did not occur. Mom was not aware that the situation occurred and because of this, there were no ramifications for bad behavior. No lessons were learned! This was a missed training and coaching opportunity and will likely happen again.
Track Meetings
We still ask for $5 to cover costs if you attend in person. And yes, you can register at the last minute….
Our Track meetings are designed to give us a sacred space to have meaningful, purposeful conversations without fear of being judged or competed with. Only Members can attend. They are amazing experiences, unlike any ‘networking meeting’ you have ever attended!
GGN members MUST REGISTER to attend these meetings, so just follow the links below! And if you want to learn about us, go ahead and join GGN~~if you decide it isn’t for you, we will refund your membership fee!
Each one is an event or happening in itself. Some members come frequently, some come only once in a while. Whenever you attend one, you will find out things you didn’t know, connect with women who will challenge and inspire you, and you will leave with some new perspectives.
Monday Morning Magic Track

Become a Member!
Great Girls Network is our way of being the opposite of the Good Ol’ Boys Network (which is still very much alive and well!). Even if you don’t participate in Track meetings, your membership gives you a way to support our existence and be a part of a growing group of women who really appreciate each other. And the Trii-Annual Gatherings are unlike any other “networking” event! We know women don’t network like men. We want to build relationships, we want deeper, more meaningful connections. That is exactly what GGN provides.
Our membership fee of $50 per year gives you access to our Track Meetings and also contributions to our Newsletter. The fee helps sustain our website, but it also ensures that when you participate in a Track meeting, you will honor the sacredness of the conversations because you are a member.
We created a digital card that helps people understand what they can get from joining GGN so click here to see the card.
Your membership helps give us that foundation, the strength to grow and have an impact on the lives of so many more women.
Great Girls Are Amazing Women!!! Thank You!!!
